HMRC have recently introduced a new “on-Line” filing system for Corporation Tax returns with the impressive sounding name iXBRL which is supposed to make things easier. Only it isn’t.
One recent example concerned a return that the HMRC computer kept rejecting. The reason turned out to be that a date had been written “30 OCTOBER 2010” which the computer didn’t recognise as it would only recognise the format “30 October 2010”. An HMRC spokesman has said that “the matter was being addressed”.
In the meantime, if you are one of many company directors who require assistance with iXBRL, please do not hesitate to contact us.
